“My work explores the loaded beauty of an increasingly unpredictable climate — a strange and dramatic sublime that mirrors the turbulence of our cultural and socio-political landscape. Based on momentary observations of the oceans and skies of Aotearoa, these paintings are a visual and emotive response to shifting atmospheric conditions.
My intent is to offer moments of darkness and light - stillness held in paint – and within them, a quiet hope that somehow things will be ok.”
